Seven Spikes Community Centre Transformation

Seven Spikes Relief has secured a historic three-storey building in South Woodford, formerly known as The White Hart Pub / Mojo Bar. Subject to planning approval, this building will be transformed into a vibrant Community Centre and House of Allah serving North-East London and surrounding areas.

This project represents more than a building renovation — it is the foundation for a long-term hub of faith, learning, service, and unity.

The vision is to create a welcoming and inclusive space open to people of all backgrounds. It will provide:

• A dedicated place of prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth

• Educational programmes and transferable life skills workshops

• Free or subsidised tuition supporting children and young people academically and morally

• Family-friendly events strengthening community bonds

• Youth engagement programmes and mentoring initiatives

• Inter-community collaboration promoting understanding and dialogue

• Community support services including food assistance, hardship relief, wellbeing guidance, and counselling

Initial work plans include applying for planning permission, carrying out essential remedial and construction works, creating open-plan prayer and community spaces, establishing dedicated facilities for women, youth, and children, and installing the necessary infrastructure to support long-term operations.

Phase 1 of the project is estimated at £1.7 million, which includes property acquisition, planning applications, and essential renovation works.

Supporters can contribute in many ways. A donation of £3,300 can sponsor one musalla within the prayer space, helping lay the foundations of a place that will serve worshippers and the wider community for years to come.

This centre is intended to serve generations — providing continuous community benefit and ongoing sadaqah jariyah.

Funds raised under this project will support the building’s restoration, planning process, construction works, and the establishment of core facilities required to open its doors to the community.
